My deville has been stalling while driving when I let off gas. We have replaced the idol control sensor, mapp sensor, maf, spark plugs, valve gasket covers, fuel pressure regular and still dying. We have also used fuel injector cleaner. Anyone k ow what it could be????? Please help

Ok so changed fuel filter and filled tank with highest grade gas with injector cleaner and car is still stalling???? Any ideas

I asked about the fuel grade because low grade fuel can cause backfiring in these engines causing carbon buildup in the throttle body. As the carbon builds up it clogs both the idle air control and the throttle plate. The throttle plate is machined to fit perfectly with the body so some air can pass while it's closed, if that space is full of carbon then it won't let air pass, choking the engine at closed throttle

Im haveing same problem I have 94 Cadillac deville and it shuts off at light and stop I did tune up replaced idol control vaccume lines,fuel filter,even fuel injectors had even put a new computer, runs good but after five Minutes it shuts off and wheel locks

use highest you can get , i went from high test to regular - no good- back to 93 octane and all is fine

Could be your catalytic converter not letting your engine breath

My 03DTS does rumble habit but I'm replacing the Cat ,changed plugs coil pack no codes just o2 sensor an cat have to be replaced

1989 Cadillac DeVille car stalls or stops what does that mean

My car stall out when i drive it for a long time. I changed fuel pump, fuel filter , injectors and map sensor. It still stalls out. I use mid grade gas with injector cleaner.

Look up,GM Drive by wire Throttle body cleaning procedure and Relearn procedures,perform procedure 4 and see if that works for you☺

I have a 1991 Cadillac DeVille that had stalling issues in the first week I bought it. It spent the next 2 weeks in the shop getting fixed up. Replaced the fuel pump and fixed a sensor in the engine. Ran fine when I got it back but started having the same symptoms again and now its still doing it. It stalls at lights, while I'm turning, and while it idles and backs up.

GUNNAR Yours is probably simple- that model had a habit of the fuel tank baffle breaking and when you turn usually right or stop suddenly with say 1/4 tank of gas the gas would slosh to one side of the tank - the baffle would have prevented this- and the pick up for the fuel would temporarily not have any gas available to it- usually the car will start right back up. the only way to prevent this is with a new tank- or considering 1/4 tank as empty.

My 2003 deville is stalling. I replaced plugs, boots, ignition coils. And the gas needle jumps around. I was thinking fuel pump. Any ideas?

Your secondary air injection could be cracked like mine was in this picture that will stall it

1976 caddy coupedeville changed fuel pump car still bogs down at low speed some times and get to 90mph want pass it it bogs down unless let of gas a little now cuts of when start sometimes and hard starting sometimes

I mistakenly thought that putting premium gas was the answer but it isn't. All my problems with stalling and engine light on went away when I used gasoline with no ethanol. Problem solved. This is after I spent 100's of dollars at dealership. This goes for lawn mowers also. I have a 2014 Cadillac SUV.

If a gas cap is bad, this will paralyze gas flow. Also bad cap will light up check engine light. Confusing the electronic operation Spend 20.00 for a new GM gas cap for that model.

Alright, so my 91 and 92 Cadillac’s do the same. The newer one however, would only stall our during the summer time for a time span of 5 minutes to 24 hours until it’d start again. We replaced literally everything on that car and to this day if i drove it during the summer it would still do it. Recently this last year a purchased a 91 Cadillac deville and its had a FULL turn up, and tons of new parts put into it. It’s now doing the same thing however it starts right back up every time, it also has a bit of a rough time starting first thing in the am ( which i felt might be due to how cold it is here) however ive recently found out its appearently due to it idling too high or low.
