2011 escape cooling fans on high

Asked by GuruS88QZ Jun 09, 2019 at 08:14 PM about the 2011 Ford Escape XLT AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 escape and the cooling fans are on high speed.i have been
reading on the subject and it’s seems to be related to the AC pressure switch.
Is there a way to eliminate the switch or to bypass it to trick the computer to
activate the fans in the normal way.i live in a cooler climate and don’t use the
AC at all

Please let me know if you find a remedy. I have the exact same problem and want to just eliminate the AC too ... I just changed out my battery and the fans were at normal speed UNTIL I tried the AC, now they are constantly high, whether AC on or off. My book says putting on the AC is part of the learning process but I am wondering if I could disconnect my battery again and then avoid turning on the AC at all ... not sure if this will affect the learning process but it did take care of the high running fan while parked?? If you find a remedy please post.

I have been reading up on this problem, today I unplugged the plastic plug on top of the switch on top of receiver dryer which is located under the hood behind the passenger headlight,I removed the switch then plugged it back in to the plastic plug and just let it dangle for a few hours, then I removed the 10 fuse from the number 13 position in the fuse box on the drivers side and also the AC relay in the number 20 position also in the fuse box...the fuse and relay will prevent the AC compressor from cutting in and building up access pressure in the system,,as of now the high speed fans are off and I have no AC at all which is fine by me,I have been driving around in it for a few hours and it seems fine, keeping an eye on the engine temp gauge and listening for the cycling of the cooling fans.this is a little experiment I am trying and by no means telling you to do this...so far so good,,over the next few days I am going to drive it and will pay very close attention to the gauge and fans and will keep you informed of my progress, hopefully this will work,,cross your fingers. Lol
