Have all steering components inspected for worn or damaged parts. Then if all those are in good condition but steering still has to much play you can adjust steering gear box on most model cars. The gear box will have a threaded stud sticking out of it with a jam nut on it holding it in place. Loosen jam nut and in real small increments turn the stud. Check steering. Do this till it looses all the play. Use caution not to do it to much. You will cause the gears to get in a bind and fail. When done tighten the jam nut back up.
