leaking oil noticed when changing tires,oil in bedpan,what could that be, don't smell any burning just keep adding oil

what is a bedpan? if you have oil on the bottom of the engine compartment, what side? Front or back? Might just be from overspill when you're adding oil. How much oil are you adding, every?
