not sure where the grease and oil are present where they oughtn't be....in the radiator is a problem~ grease, should not be present at all...not sure where? wheel bearing grease? kinda does not make much sense~...I'd say have the fluids changed...would like to know if something is where it does not belong...certainly you understand that seals can degrade...I also have a 2006 Mini with 40,000 miles on it~ the steering pump is noisy...perhaps these substances change their chemistry on ya a bit~ ...degradation of seals....look for that~

Because your BMW uses full synthetic oil, you can have a build up of yellow gunk in the vent system. But that wouldn't prevent the car from starting. What did the mechanic say? Did he check with the basics, battery, spark, fuel, etc. Sounds like they want to buy/steal the car away from you. It's worth around $8K. Something doesn't sound right to me. Do you have it at a BMW independent shop?
