In the back seat behind the drivers seat there is a lever on the wall under the window. That lever releases the main closure for the rear lid. Then just under the lip of the rear lid (on the drivers side only) is a small latch that you can move with your finger. That second latch releases a second catch. With the second catch released you can open the rear lid completely. Once it's open, you can lift the top out. Lift it all the way up, but don't fasten the front yet; lift the back of the canvas top up high enough to close the rear lid behind it. Then put the back down and from the front seat pull the front of the canvas top down to the point where you can turn the two latches (below the sun visors).
