Why is the warning "Engine HOT / A/C Off" appearing when my car is COLD?
I live in CT where it has been in the single digits the past week. This warning came on
when I started the car to warm it up. The car was NOT hot. It's a 2010 Buick Lucerne. Is
this just a sensor? I see some people actually disconnected the battery and it reset it. I
really dont have the means to spend alot of money if this is a simple fix.
Sounds like the coolant temp sensor or the wiring going to it is shorted to ground. When this happens the computer "thinks" the engine is overheated. HTH. -Jim
