I'm looking at a 2010 terrain 6 cyl. front drive. we have a steep driveway in Colorado, and will a front wheel drive go up it? a rear wheel drive spins, a 4wd goes fine . Thanks Dan
It will spin, but get you up. Only way to know is try. Borrow a friends FWD vehicle and see.
I have a 4 cyl Terrain and it has a lot of power due to a low gearing in the transmission. So power should not be an issue as the 6 cyl has nearly 100 more hp. What do you do in the winter snow, ice or frozen ground, park and walk? A front wheel drive will pull an not push so it should do the job. I have not taken my terrain off road to climb dunes or steep rocky hills, but the low gearing will be enough to get you up if it is not a very steep gravel or decomposed granite road. If it is, look at a Jeep or mule.
