the radio is displaying a code 1000 and my auxillary is no longer working in my car

You must have either had a dead battery or removed and reinstalled the radio. You need that radio's unique four digit code which is in the car's paperwork or the VW dealer can provide it if you give him your cars VIN and the radio's ten digit serial number. It's showing 1000 right now if you hit any buttons which made it ready to accept its correct code.
