slide piece on my automatic shifter broke. Is there a replacement part?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've taken off the console and placed tape on the slider where it broke. I don't
want something to fall down and screw something up. That tape will last 6
months before the tape gives out. I can't find a replacement slider anywhere.
What else can I use? Ideas?

You can't just buy that plastic accordion piece, you have to purchase the whole shifter assembly. Ebay has some used ones for $80.

That's what I figured. Was hoping I was wrong. What a rip off. Looks like I "stick" to tape. Thanks
