what could be causing my 08 envoy to shut off while driving? could it be i just need a tune up? have a bad or clogged fuel pump or filter? or bad ignition switch?

Can it not be re-started, if it can, same thing happen?? Many things can cause that as you mentioned above, even a torque converter can do this, but you'll be able to restart. Any check engine lights?
