Antitheft came on and we need to
know how to reset the antitheft
system  it's  08 malibu

Try using another key if you have one ,,, the key transponder battery may be low ... if it gets very low it won't send the "confirm" signal to the computer

I have the shop manual-to reset passlock-turn key on to start,do not try to start it.leave it that way for 10 minutes,after ten minutes,shut key off then start the car.my maibu is a 2001 piece of crap.the passlock chip finally gave up at 65 thousand miles.i had the system repaired.passlock control chip is just above where you put in the key.i had the mechanic give me the bad one.i tested it.it was burned open.car runs fine now.but that is the secret on how to reset passlock.one of there mechanics told me years ago.it does work.take care.
