abs issue on hyundai accent 2008
I took my car to a mechanic because my 2008 Hyundai Accent would not pick up speed
after 20 mph and i heard grinding noise as i was driving the mechanic told me i needed to
replace the master cylinder, brake pads, and the two front rotors, so i did. the grinding
noise went away but the smell is still there and it still won't pick up speed. its in the shop
now and he mentioned something about the ABS someone explain please?
ABS = Anti-lock Braking System. There may be a problem with the ABS system causing the brakes to apply when driving.
does it typically cause a smell? because my car has a smell when it happens, and also my ABS light isn't on
If the brakes were dragging they would have the distinctive hot brake smell. I am wondering if something else is causing the proble. Can you describe the smell and where it seems to be coming from. Is the smell noticed more inside or outside the vehicle?
i smell it from the outside
