why oil life at 50%, but engine light is on and indicator states low oil pressure shut engine off, 2008 chevy suburbun
I suspect an oil leak and your oil level is now too low, tripping the light. Do you have any spots on the ground where you park or wet under the car from oil? Check to see if your drain plug is not loose or leaking.
Drain plug and Oil filter is dry
That was probably the end of your engine depending how long you drove it like that, if it was truly out of oil. Now that you had this happen you need to keep a close eye on the dipstick (if it restarts) because it'll probably burn oil like crazy and make lots of noise. You may need an engine rebuild if was ran for more than a minute sec with no oil. Good luck with all that :(
