Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can you help me know what is the proper temperature of a 2008 cobalt 2.2 L
engine? Since my car is in the 184 and now it is going up to 196 and if I use it
more than the time it reaches 217 and then it starts to decrease.

Sounds about right to me. As long as it continues to come back down when the thermostat opens like it’s doing now I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Check the coolant level when it’s cold to make sure it’s full.
