2008 Ford Explorer won't start
I have a 08 Ford Explorer One morning my
car was making a weird noise from the belt
after ten mins it stopped 8 hours later I
was driving down the highway and the car
just cut out. Still has power and wants to
start when I turn the key over but just not
starting. Checked altenator and it's good
fuel pump is good IDK what's wrong any
One of the pulleys/bearings might be worn and putting enough resistance on the engine that it stopping the car.
It would appear one of the pulleys has frozen. Visually check the belt for damage. Then remove the belt from the vehicle and turn all the accessory pulleys by hand, they should turn. If the car starts without the belt (run for a short time only, as the water pump is not working) the problem will be with one of the belt driven components.
