fuse #3 The fuse panel is located below the instrument panel on the driver’s side. And is shows for Radio, Amplifier, Power antenna, DVD. I can't find the map image, but if you download the link below it's on Page 229 http://justgivemethedamnmanual.com/ford/2002-ford-explorer-owners-manual

If fuses are good under hood.....then a common problem from Ford. The car lost it's memory and needs to be reprogrammed. To do this they need both keys and 1 hour of time. It will cost 100.- I was told it is nothing unusual

There is a little tool called a preset saver or code saver, it uses a 9 volt battery and is plugged into a operational power port just before the battery is disconnected, this keeps all the memory circuits alive for a short period of time like how long it takes to replace the battery. There are much fancier versions that plug directly into the OBD 2 port that use an external power supply, for repairs that are going to take much longer. Every tool box should have at least the small one. Most likely you will wind up at the dealer getting it reflashed, but the good news is that you will get the newest updates.
