We have a 2008 TL with 62000 miles, dealer has recommended the timing belt be changed although mileage is less than suggested change he indicated Acura suggests changes in 7 years no matter mileage?
Acura recommends 105K or 7 years. Do you plan on keeping the car? Might be piece of mind to do it now. You can always wait if you want, but your engine is an interference engine and will cause valve damage if it does break. Your call.
Tom is correct. I have a 2006 Acura TL with 97,000 miles and in mint condition. However I plan to replace the Belt a little sooner and only at the Acura dealership. The last place you want to take is a road side shop. They destroyed my 1996 Acura TL.
I have a 2009 Acura TL with 109,000 miles and the place where I get my oil changes and got my tires (not a 10 minute oil change place) has suggested the change of timing belt, water pump and flushing the cooling system. My dad has always had Honda's and when it comes to big things like brakes, etc. he always goes to Honda for those repairs. Is this something you'd suggest to have done at Acura or Honda? Thank you.
Correction to the above: I have a 2008 Acura TL.
