Does the side mirror have anything to do with the heating defroster not working?

Asked by PapaRay Oct 30, 2012 at 10:44 AM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A deer jumped out of the woods and hit my car in the side totally destroying my side mirror and today it is
cold and I need my heater and it won't work.  It just blows cold air.  When we bought the car 2 years ago,
we didn't get a book with it and we have no idea if this could be a fuse problem or what.  I just know it was
working fine and now it isn't.  Where could I get a book that would show the fuses or other info relating to
this?

With the amount of information in your post the best I could suggest is head to your local Autozone. They may have a manual or otherwise be able to help you with further info.

you could get a repair book at any of your local automotive shops. If you just go with the Haynes repair books, the book should be able to tell you what you are looking for. Also the thermostat could be sticking and you could buy a new one for like $10. good luck

I occurred to me none of us answered his question. No. The mirror itself is not connected to the heat system at all. Even if it's a heated mirror.
