You might've damaged or disconnected the ABS sensor.

NO to both. When changing hub and bearing assbly, sensor wire has to be disconnected for new replacement of hub and bearing assbly WITH new sensor. Disconnet is located on top shock mount. Very easy to disconnect. Disconnect was inspected very close for irt and damage. My suspicion is there is a way to clear code C0040 that is not made clear.

As far as I know ABS codes clear every time you start the engine. Maybe the new ABS sensor is bad.

Code C0040 means not reading front right sensor. If the sensor is good and gapped correctly, it shouldn't give you that fault. You do not reset it, it resets itself. Checkout this video, it might help you. https://youtu.be/nachBPzhbvY

I have installed 3; note; 3 new sensors and 2 new hub/bearing assblys. Code C0040 came up before the last hub/bearing/ sensor was installed. There cannot be that many faulty parts. I have tried disconnect of batteries 2 times; speeds of 65-70 mph for 5 miles. Nothing works. This truck is VERY clean underneath and around wheels and so on. Therefore I feel difrt is not an issue. Brake pads are in very good condition; brake fluid level is as required. I have not checked for code as of today as I installed a new hub/bearing assbly/sensor about3 hours ago. By the way; this is not aa sick joke, I have a problem I cannot solve.

Did you give up on answer? From what it appears, there is not a way to set the gap between the sensor and the sensor gear in the hub. The sensors are installed at the factory. Who makes the hub/bearing assblys, I do not know.

I read just today one way to get rid of the ABS light is to "disconnet both batteries, then apply the brakes until all power in the computer is discharged, then reconnect the batteries and the ABS light will go away". Do you think this is a wise way to go?????

Just drive it. ABS light will go away after the new hub is on and plugged in.
