After I start up my 2004 mazda rx8 and let it warm
up and go a good distance where then the
temperature meter is in the middle then use the
shut off procedure to properly shut it off then I do
what I need to do for 10 to 20 minutes and go to
try and start it back up it takes multiple cranks
which is then another 30 minutes until it finally
starts. I have a brand new battery, ignition coils,
spark plugs, Cadillac converter, and exasust pipe.
So what's the problem?
It is very possible your problem is a crank position sensor.
Is there a way to clean it or should it be replaced?
I just had the exact same problem. My mechanic changed the crank sensor, it did not fix the issue but looked bad and needed to be changed anyway. Then figured out it’s the starter motor and plugs . Motor not giving enough power and the plugs were old and installed wrong. After replacing, she starts like a charm, purrs like a kitten, engine light off and about 25% more power :) like new again — 2005 Shinka 85kms
