Will it go into 4low? Start the truck put the gear selector into neutral and select 4low. Listen and wait a second or two if thr transfer case does clunk and drop into low.

Wooh wooh wooh calm down. Is the truck running? What's stuck in neutral the transmission or transfer case. Drop it into drive and move the truck around.

Sorry, the thanks was sincere not sarcasim. My hubby took the truck for 30km drive and when he got back in the driveway he tried putting it in 4hi and it got stuck in neutral (transfer case). This happened before you answered.

Oh ok sorry. Kinda hard to tell over email. Ok back to the he problem. Unhook the battery for about 10-15 minutes. Hook it back up, restart the truck and see if it resets itself. If not I can walk you through another way.

Didn't reset itself, hubby has lost his sense of humour. Is there another option to get it back to 2hi

Ah that's not good. I would start with checking all of the fuses that have to do with the 4wd, transfer case, ect. Then start looking at wires from the transfer case to the fuse box looking for any broken, frayed, chewed or pinched wires. If you can't find anything wrong its time to have it towed in to a mechanic.
