Brake light (on dash) turns on when I slam on brakes

Asked by Bill May 28, 2013 at 10:43 PM about the 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis GS Convenience

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Whenever I have to slam on the brake, the red brake light comes on while I am braking
and then when the car comes to almost a complete stop, then it turns off. Why does it
keep doing this?

And slow down , chill dude, and you won't have to slam on the brakes, ever

I only have to slam on the brakes for the Yellow lights because I do not want to get a red light ticket. I hate those things.

OK that makes sense. I did not intend to lecture you, it's just the way you worded your question. I don't know if you mean you hate yellow lights or hate getting a ticket, I hate those things too. So point taken.... and did you check that fluid?

Thanks I a trying to put more pictures but the uploader is going very slowly. It has almost 120K miles on it now and it still runs almost like new

OK, but I suggest you do so in the morning, and come back and let me know tomorrow, If that is not it, we can go from there and figure out what's happening

For insinuating that - people taking the time to ask questions on information they have no given NOR experienced knowledge...have just above borderline mental impairment - Bill got an increase of 7 total I.Q. totaling up to GRAND total of 11. Definitely majorly impaired brain activity. You don't even qualify to ask a question billbo baggins
