Can I put a non flex fuel engine into a 2003FORD explore if I take out the flex fuel motor
If you've been running gasoline in it you should be able to. Some of the earlier flex fuel vehicles had to be programmed each time you switched fuels. Newer models reprogram automatically. Just to be safe I'd check with your local Ford Dealer about your '03 model. HTH. -Jim
A short answer, yes. Flex fuel vehicles have alterations made to their fuel system and Oxygen sensors are different. The 4.0 V6 engine should swap out. Do you use E85 now, not many stations sell it in my area. You may want to check with a parts store to see if the oxygen sensors are different for the two vehicles.
