Can't engage reverse lockout.

Asked by Nov 12, 2013 at 11:15 PM about the 1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Roll pin came out of reverse lockout lever on my 68 Shelby with 4 speed top loader.  Now I can't get to the lockout shaft.  Any suggestions how to pull the shaft back up so as to be able to engage the pin?

perhaps you can use a strong magnet to pull it around~

compressed air blast? vac??

from interior, remove boot and surrounding trim, work from there that's about it as far as I know, alignment will still be a little tricky at that
