I bought a 1988 5.0L mustang a
couple of months ago and it has a
throttle body and fuel rails and some
people don't think that the fuel rails
should Be one their?
You mean like this
Yea just like that but are there normally fuel rails and throttle body?
Of course it should have those parts. But then again, did you buy a car that someone dropped a carbureted motor in?
No it's not carbureted
Then your all good then, 1986 was the first year of fuel injection on the Mustangs. The people your were talking to have no clue what they are talking about.
I have one more question. Last weekend I dropped the tank on the truck cleaned it put it back on I let it idel for 20 minutes and went for a test drive I stop at the stop sign about 300ft away from my house and it died an tryed it twice and the same thing happened. I think it's the fuel pump? Any idea
Why did you drop the tank in the first place, because of the stalling? Did you replace the fuel filter when you dropped the tank? Did you check the fuel pressure by hooking up a gauge up on the fuel rail in the engine bay?
Because the Truck had been sitting for a little over two years before I bought it
