Battery replacement now a/c won't blow from vents

Asked by Aug 26, 2016 at 12:07 AM about the 2008 Ford Escape XLT

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just had my battery changed on a 2008 4 cylinder
Ford Escape. When I turn the car back on the air
conditioning only blows through the defrost on the
top of the dash on the floor and in the tiny vents on
the driver's and passenger's side at the very top
that are not adjustable. I turned my air conditioning
off when I took the car to have the battery
changed. The technician at O'Reilly said that my
motor might have gone out. He said that it would
have absolutely nothing to do with the battery
change. Am I really having that bad of a day?

Not much detail beyond this... A/C only blows cold air below 78 degrees or so. Above that, it only blows out hot air.
