Larry, the first generation Porsche Cayman was unveiled to the public at the 2005 IAA Frankfurt International Auto Show on September 2005 with the Cayman S version equipped with a 3.4-litre six cylinder horizontally opposed boxer gasoline engine with 295 bhp, and a year later the regular Cayman has arrived with a 2.7-litre six cylinder horizontally opposed boxer engine with 245 bhp. Then the Cayman and the Cayman S received new engines (the entry model received a 2.9-litre six cylinder horizontally opposed boxer engine with 265 bhp and the Cayman S received an updated version of the 3.4-litre six cylinder horizontally opposed boxer engine and for the first time with Direct Fuel Injection (DFI)).
