Honda Accord Battery

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my car battery light has been on for a good
month now. I had the battery checked and
everything looked fine. Only symptom being the
battery light- Fast forward to now, I was driving and
my car radio started to shut off and on randomly. I
parked my car, went where I was going, and when I
came back about 10 minutes later, the car wouldn’t
start. It hasn’t been stalling and the battery had a
more than okay voltage when it was checked. Can
anyone tell me what this is?

Sounds like a short in the charging system causing the battery light to come on. You should have done a parasitic draw test to find the problem. You may have caused a falt in the internal voltage regulator inside the alternator driving it on a low charge causing the alternator to fail. I would charge the battery, clean the connections, and reconnect it securely to the battery terminals. Has the alternator been checked? It should be putting out about 14.5 amps with a fully charged battery. If the battery is charged and the alternator is putting out 14.5 amps and the battery light is still on then you must find the short. You can google finding a parasitic draw..
