2007 Yukon Denali XL dead with good battery

Asked by TyCon1 Oct 02, 2018 at 09:53 AM about the 2007 GMC Yukon XL SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Yukon has full power when I get in.  When I
turn the key to start it,  it clicks and goes
completely dead.  Newer battery  has plenty
of charge.  Put it on a trickle charger and it
starts right away.  Electrical seem to come
back as soon as I hooked up the charger and
turned it on.

I did recently replaced the alternator but did nothing with the voltage regulator.

This might just be a bad battery connection. Clean and tighten the connections.

Battery terminals are tight and clean. I'm inclined to think it is something like a regulator. Every now and again, as I'm going down the road, the stereo and possibly the whole electrical system "blips". I know this because the stereo will completely shut down and restart. This was happening before and since I have changed the alternator. Does that sound indicative to a voltage regulator problem or something like that?

These are classic symptoms of a bad connection. I recommend double checking everything. Check the accessory hot wire too!
