Cigarette smoke

Asked by kdray Aug 12, 2017 at 01:30 PM about the 2007 Mercury Milan V6 Premier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just buy a used car where the previous owner was a smoker.  It seems the odor more noticeable when I turn on the AC. I used cat litter, white vinegar and orange skin peels to cover the smell, but it seems the odor is inside the car.  Any suggestion on how I can get rid of this odor.

There are services that claim they can clean AC ducts. Try calling mechanics that do AC service. Clean the upholstery and carpet while you are at it.
