Car won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had a mechanic replace my alternator yesterday. After he
completed the job the car would not start. When turning on
the ignition all the lights in the gauge cluster come on as
usual but when turning the key to get the engine to turn
over it doesn't do anything but make a light clicking sound.

The battery might be weak. What is the voltage on it? 12.4V? If you don't have a mulitmeter, can you remove it and take it to an auto part store? I'd have it load tested.

Its more than likely the Battery as you just stated you had to change the alternator. Would only make seince that the battery needs more power to start
