first time vet owner
Storing 2005 vet for winter in home garage. Getting oil change before storing, should it have a stabler added to prevent gunking when stored?
Yes plus put it on blocks to keep it off the tires so they dont get flat spots.
Add a dose of fuel stabilizer to it and fill the fuel tank, then run the engine or drive the car to get the conditioned fuel distributed throughout the fuel system. If just sitting over the winter I would also add a battery tender or remove the battery and store it in a climate controlled area. Putting it up on blocks would be optional. When I had my 2006 C6 and stored for the winter tire flat spotting resolved quickly when driving it in the spring.
One other thing to consider when storing a vehicle is rodent damage. The area must be maintained free of mice and rats as they can eat wiring and build nests in the strangest of places. We use mouse and rat bait poison where I live. I do live in the country so I may have a higher incidence of rodents than a city dweller.
