remove and replace rear vent window
rear vent window is broken (small window in rear passenger door) and i was wondering where to find removal and replacment instructions?
Lower the main window. Remove plastic trim around inside main side window (inside). Remove door panel (leave speaker grill on) by removing screws in handles etc & then clips. Ease it up to remove , disconnect wires etc. The quarter glass is held in by nuts (4?) around perimeter & one bolt on bottom of window side rail (near lock). Remove the main glass rubber so can move glass over to side. Remove ONE small screw that retains main glass ext weather strip (screw at one end), then ease off weather strip Push main glass over and remove quarter glass by working the rail bracket out. May be easier with main glass at half open. Reverse to fit.. Use soap lube to get glass/rubbers back into place.
To get the quarter window frame/guide rail out, the bootom bracket needs to clear the door metalwork so.. Need to twist the quarter window frame 180 degrees (around vertical axis).
Thanks for your help. I actually found it easiest to pull the release pin from the main window and slide it up and out of the way to remove and reinstall the vent window. Should note that once the vent window is loose and you are removing it, the upper bolt (affixed to the frame) may scratch the paint if one is not careful.
