2005 Jaguar x type will not go into gear

Hi there, coincidentally I had the exact same issue last night. I've popped up the leather casing surrounding the gear stick to find a little ball joint had popped out of its housing. I simply popped it back into position and everything is working fine. 2 minute job and no need for a mechanic. Might be worth a look before you call someone that costs money.
