My 1991 Chevy Astrovan keeps spewing antifreeze fumes through the vents, actually fogging up the windows. I was told its the heater core. Im getting that fixed this weekend, but now the temp. gauge

More than likely ,you are loosing coolant through the heater core,and low coolant will make it jump back and fourth.
