96 chevy 5.7 vortec. I've replaced fuel pump, filter, fuel pressure regulator, it's getting fire and.I have fuel to the engine but.it won't.start. any ideas
Have you checked for injector power and trigger signal?
No I can.use.starting fluid.and.it.runs. if.that.matters.just.won't.stay.runnin g
That just tells me that if it got fuel it would run, so you need to find out why it is not getting fuel through the injection system, check for blown injection fuses, they will be in the main power box under the hood, use an ohm meter to check them they may look good but will be open, if all that check good then you need to see if the power is present at the injection unit, this can get tricky, I hope you have a service manual on this rig with some good wiring diagrams cause you may need it, once you get to the injection assembly and unplug it then you need to test for power to each injector positive pin, if each pin has power then that is good, then you need to test for a injector trigger signal, that comes from the ECM and you will need to test for it at each injectors negative pin, so if you have both positive power and negative triggers the only conclusion is the injection unit has failed and will have to be replaced, I believe they are starting to have these aftermarket now so that will save you a bundle compaired to the dealer. Hope this helps.
Have your codes read. I feel you may see a cam or crank sensor code
