#1 Not getting spark

Runs bad and no spark to cyl 1&4. Bad icm? How
do I check it

That would be the ignition coil. Cylinders #1 and #4 fire together. One is on the power stroke while the other one is on the exhaust stroke. Same with cylinders #2 and #3. Yep, just change the coil and it will probably be okay.

You might be right about the ICM but since they are $100 I would hate to be wrong. You might find one at a salvage yard for half that but first check the ignition wires. It's hard to reach the coil on this engine but maybe you can test for spark at the output terminals #1 and #3. Check spark plugs. If the coil is new, it almost has to be the ICM. Can you scan for codes on this pre 1996 engine....it will be OBD one not OBD two.
