Question type: Car Customization

Will replacing the standard air intake box and filter with a aftermarket cold air filter kit
effect the settings for air/gas mixture on the cars computer?

Mine didn't. But you will have to still have the maf sensor in the air duct and plugged in. Computer must have this info to operate properly.

No it shouldn't. I added a cold air kit with K & N filter to my Mini Cooper-S & later to my Fiat Abarth & gained 20% more hp, the performance & mpg improved too! Most kits have a hook-up for the stock mass air flow sensor. Plus they pop, hiss, & groan,so cool. Always think "more air in & more exhaust out" for more performance. An after market "cat back" exhaust system helps to, like Flow Master.
