Window motor on passenger side

Asked by Mr_b96 Jul 27, 2020 at 10:16 PM about the 1991 Buick Century Custom Wagon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Passenger window motor wont work from driver
and passenger side when I hit the switch. I'm
getting proper voltage. If I take a jumper wire to the
switch on the passenger side and ground it out it
will go up but it wont go down if I dont remove the
jumper.

the motor for the glass might be out, or the relay in the door. good luck

The motor is grounded to the chassis by being bolted to the window regulator. The motor is reversible. Both wires going to the motor are hot. One wire energizes the motor to turn in one direction to raise the window and the other wire energizes the motor to turn the other direction to lower the window. Hope that helps! Jim
