I.cleaned the butterfly on the throttle body today. Had the intake manifold off and when looking for it i could not find the egr valve. Do i have to take something else off to see it

It should be right in front of the transmission dipstick or close to where the transmission and engine bolt together. Take the air filter box and tube out and you will be able to see it.

The 2003 and later models didn't come stock with an EGR Valve, only 2001 and 2002. I guess Chrysler didn't think Cruiser driver's wanted to save on fuel cost or save the environment? I don't know but I do know there is a spot for one on the later models. It's usually indicated by a flat shiny metal spot just under the throttle body with 2 holes on either side. Unless of course you have a dirty engine then a dirty flat spot with two holes. I'd say you can likely install one if you really love your mother earth that much and feel like gaining 0.25 mpg. Otherwise leave well enough alone and find something else to fix.
