2007 Pontiac Grand Prix Body Control Module (BCM)

If these are four digit number codes with the letter "P" in front of the number the BCM is not involved. Exactly what warnings are you seeing? Jim

We have an OBDII code reader and no codes recorded just occasionally displaying warning on the DIC above the radio for Check Tire Pressure (sensor was replaced, tire pressure is good) or Charging System Failure (battery and alternator test good). Seat belt light has come on when driver is buckled and no one is in passenger seat. Car is a hand me down from his older brother who had no issues with it. Mechanic can't find anything wrong and advised searching further wasn't worth the cost since car has 189k miles but son doesn't have money to buy a newer car. Talked to someone who had 2 Grand Prix with random sensor issues fixed by replacing BCM.

I would do some trouble shooting and isolate the problem before spending money on parts that may not be needed. You may require a shop or even the dealer with more sophisticated equipment to analyze the BCM. Lots of problems on older cars are caused by electrical systems breaking down. Make sure the battery is strong. Inspect, clean and tighten all grounds and electrical connections throughout the car. Keep an eye on electrical draw as you go to see if anything changes.
