My car lost all gears randomly with no signs, what does that mean? 07 Buick LaCrosse 150k
I drive a few miles and stopped at an
intersection so that I may turn. When a
window opened for me to take the turn my
car would not drive or reverse. The tow man
said I had transmission fluid but it seemed I
had no gears.
It could mean the either you totally lost all transmission pressures and that usually means a tranny rebuild, or the TCM went away, a good tranny shop can do the tests to see what actually happened. HTH
I'm sorry, but, this illustrates my frustration with American cars that typically fall apart after 100,000 miles or just slightly above that. Your automatic transmission should last 150,000 miles or more. Asian cars are just built with better quality control.
I had the same issue. Ended up being a shift mode sensor.
Having the exact same problem now!! I pray its relatively cheap!!
Having the same problem with a 2011 Buicl lacrosse...being told a new transmission needed. 120000 miles Agree about American cars vs foreign built. Not likely I will purchase American 'car' again?
