CVT transmission

Asked by Roadeodude Oct 31, 2017 at 01:00 PM about the 2007 Nissan Sentra Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Check engine light came on my daughter’s 2007
Nissan Sentra, so I went to dealership, they said it
was something in transmission, they said it was
going to cost $1868, and of course they found more
things wrong, last time I went to them for my wife’s
van, it cost me about the same amount and found
out it wasn’t but a cam sensor, don’t know it I
should fix or  put a new transmission in the car, any
suggestions, my time with Nissan is about done, I
have them serviced regularly and on time and they
are becoming a money pit

You should get a second opinion / estimate. Dealers are usually the most expensive option for repairs. Check with a reputable transmission shop in your area.

Nissan should pay for a new CVT. Call up Nissan directly.
