dodge Dakota will not start until battery unhooked

2007 Dakota 4.7l. Only starts once after
disconnecting and reconnecting battery. Everything
else seems fine.

Does your keyless entry work? My guess is something in the security system is tripping the "do not start" mode. By reconnecting the battery this gets reset and is allowed to start once before the system fails again. Also would be worth checking the voltage on the battery with a multi meter and see what it's running at although I don't suspect the battery as the culprit in your case.
