2007 Ford Five Hundred CVT transmission failure?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So the 500 decided to simply not go the other day.  Pulled out of the drive way
and engine would rev but the car would barely move.  I pulled it back in and
parked it.  Now I go out and shift through gears and nothing engages.  Is it a
total transmission failure or can I check something else before I give up on
this thing?

All you can do is check the transmission fluid level. Sounds like it is toast.

How many miles were on it when it failed, and was the trans fluid ever changed? I'm looking at one right now.
