Depends on your area of the country, but I would be hard pressed to call any car with almost 250,000 miles on it a "good deal" at $3,000. Even most of the newer cars are nearly worn-out by that mileage. You should be able to find a newer (99-2000) Saturn, for example, with 75-100k miles for the same price -- a much better deal in my estimation.
