Will safety neutral switch on a 4L60E cause
transmission to stall down/not shift down or up
1996 2W drive Tahoe 5.7 Vortec

Yes cause it is also the gear selector switch and that tells the BCM what position the shift lever is in. If I remember right there was a TSB on those back then, so check with the dealer to see if there was a part update, if not then you can go aftermarket and save some coin.
