Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I swapped out the radiator on my 97
Chevy suburban 5.7 4x4 because it has stop
leak in it so I did the swap and thought
everything was okay the next day hooked a 2
axel trailer loaded down with yard clippings
to it and was a mile away from my house
when it would hit about 35 and kicks out of
gear and rpms rev I get it home and relize
the cooler lines didn't seal and the tranny
fluid leaked out, so I filled it back up and
made sure it sealed but now I can drive it
any advice before I start spending money I
don't have?

You say you repaired the leak and installed more fluid and you can drive the truck. Do you mean you CAN"T drive the truck? Make sure the fluid is at the correct level. Warm the engine up to operating temperature. Engine on, in park, pull the dipstick , wipe and reinsert, is the fluid between the hash marks? If the fluid is fine, you might have burned up the trans due to the low fluid and towing at the same time. The Transmission in the Exploders weren't the most robust to begin with. I suspect you will be replace the transmission if you want to keep the vehicle.

Yes I did mean can't. damn spell check, so I did that and it's still the same so transmissions shot, is that the only part it would have affected? I'm no mechanic by far I know basics so far I've put 3000 into a 1000 suburban just to get it on the road for about a week,I just can't afford to keep making unnecessary purchases. (I was told to change the transmission filter to see if that works) but like I said I'm broke. Professional opinion?
