I have had two belts break on my 03 Buick Park Avenue, both on the same day. Any idea why?

Either they were worn and ready to go, one broke and took out the other, or one of your pulley's seized up and or the belt tensioner failed damaging them.

a pulley could be mis aligned.. any squealing or burn smell???
